Thanks to ents manager Steve for sending me this this morning.

I was lucky enough to catch a screening of Slumdog Millionaire - Danny Boyle's oscar-tipped Mumbai-set drama last week and it really lived up to the hype. Such a simple idea to structure a film around a game show. It sounds sketchy and even a tad cheap at first. But the execution, as hinted at by this alternative version, is outstanding...

If you only see two films in January, make it this and Mickey Rourke's The Wrestler, which I've reviewed here.

This will be the last blog entry before Christmas and the new year as I'm away from tomorrow. So I wish everyone a happy seasonal period and I'll see you all on the other side...

But i always prefer and like a movie that is based upon real characters in real events and situations,, so should Slumdog really win then, it being half truth ,, half fantasy !!! It showed the real side of india that gets ignored usually.. but done it in a way of great storytelling. By the end you feel so good.. wish such a sweet ending. Great acting and direction. 	Elizabethha scritto: even if you hate this film it is performing a very important job in raising awareness to the many problems in india. the image of the boy having his eyes blinded so he can look a 'sorrier sight' whilst begging for the gang leaders is a reality for a lot of children in india and probably other countries. i hope this encourages indian authorities to do more to tackle the problem. 15 Gen.
	caz sha scritto: i also saw slumdog millionaireand to be honest i would not usually see thy sort of film as i dont like who wants to be...... but i thought it was fanastic, watching what the boys lives were like really opened my eyes and started thinking about what things i would remember thoughout my life and nothing could compare to it, would see it again even though i i know what happens, really good film would really recommend it to everyone 15 Gen.
